Most Loving Father, we thank You today for your son, Jesus Christ. We thank You that no one who studies his life can fail to believe in Him. We thank you that even His own words are proof of His Divinity. In all the world, there has never been anyone like Him; and you gave Him up for us. It is hard to understand; but we praise You and give You thanks. Amen.Posted in Daily Prayer |

The One to come.
Jesus … made a little lower than the angels … suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. Just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness. So God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. In these last days [God] has spoken to us by his Son … the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. You have granted him authority over all people.
The first man was of the dust of the earth, and the second man from heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
Include in your prayers today President Obama, his wife First Lady Michelle Obama, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia.

FLOODING IN NEW ENGLANDPlease remember those who are being devastated by the flood waters in the northeast part our nation.
CESAR CHAVEZ DAY
President Obama meets at the White House with family members of Cesar Chavez, the civil rights leader and founder of the United Farm Workers. Leaders of the UFW will also be present to mark what would have been Chavez’s 83rd birthday — an occasion the president will designate Cesar Chavez day.
PRAY FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, in testimony before the House Financial Services Committee, laid out President Obama’s road map for the mortgage crisis fix, saying abandoning Fannie Mae is not the solution.
A new U.S.-Russian treaty reducing long-range nuclear weapons to be signed later this year was presented by President Obama to Sen. John Kerry (Massachusetts) and Sen. Richard Lugar (Indiana), ratification leaders.
Pray for all of the Administration’s activities, domestic and foreign, to produce the best results for America.
PRAY FOR OUR CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS
House Democrats, sensing a new political wind at their backs, are debating which next legislative steps will best utilize their political capital: financial reform, climate change, immigration, “cap-and-trade.”
In the Senate, Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (Nevada) anticipates completing the reconciliation package by the end of the current week, confident that GOP objections and amendments would fail.
Pray about the discord that exists in our Legislature, particularly when personal attacks are employed.
PRAY FOR OUR JUDICIARY
At least 14 state attorneys general have filed suit challenging the “individual mandate” provision of the health care reform legislation, where Americans must buy health insurance or face federal penalties, as unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court refused to hear a First Amendment appeal from a Washington high schooler whose school would not allow the wind ensemble to play an instrumental version of Biebl’s “Ave Maria.” Justice Alito dissented.
Pray about the impact that the decisions of the court impose on individuals in our nation.
PRAY FOR THESE LEADERS THIS WEEK:
Eric K. Shinseki, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Senator Lamar Alexander, Tennessee
Judge Carlos T. Bea, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
David S. Sedney, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Afghanistan
OTHER PRAYER CONCERNS:
THE WAR
Iraq election results will include more women in the parliament regardless of vote count, as new rules provide a quota that not more than three-quarters of seats can be held by men.
Pakistani leaders are meeting with U.S. Defense and State Department officials to develop a more strategic relationship between our nations, and to seek more economic and military aid in its struggle with the Taliban.
Pray for the leaders of the nations in the war-torn areas as they work to build themselves up in peace.
TERRORISM
More than 100 suspected militants linked to Al-Qaeda have been arrested in Saudi Arabia, including people from Saudi, Ethopia, Yemen, Somalia, Bangladesh and Eritrea, along with computers, cameras, cell phones and weapons.
Prosecutors in Florida announced $60 million in money-laundering penalties against Wachovia Bank, for failing to monitor billions of dollars processed for Mexican drug cartels. No prosecutions are expected.
Pray for foreign and domestic investigators and agents who work under cover against terror in all its forms.
THE ECONOMY
Industry analysts suggest that banks and other lending groups will lose $70 billion a year in student loan programs due to the federal take over of student loans that was part of the health care reform legislation.
The U.S. lost more than 2.4 million jobs to China in the last decade, according to the Economic Policy Institute, impacting Texas and California most severely. Low labor costs in China are the primary reason.
Pray for the families impacted by job losses in all sectors of America’s economy.
ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned Israel that its survival was in jeopardy unless it could reach a peace deal with the Palestinians.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed President Obama that Israel would build a new neighborhood to house both Jews and Palestinians, asserting his nation’s right to do so.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They prosper that love thee.” (Psalm 122)
HEALTH CARE
By September, insurers will be required to begin providing health coverage to children with pre-existing illnesses, and allowing parents to keep children younger than 26 on their health insurance plans.
About 1 million children in the U.S. and 30 million worldwide have received a contaminated Rotarix rotavirus vaccine, according to the Food and Drug Administration, with assurances of no evidence that it poses a safety risk.
Pray for the health, safety and well being of America’s children.
Some of the Pharisees said, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”
“I tell you,” Jesus replied, “If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
Luke 19:39-40 (Jesus enters Jerusalem on what we celebrate as Palm Sunday.)

By Betty MillerWrite … what will take place later.
As it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him; but God has revealed it to us byhis Spirit. The Spirit of truth … will tell you what is yet to come.
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
We do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Pray today for all in government, from the highest to the lowest positions, to be among those who believe that Jesus died and rose again, that they would find salvation in Him.

O Lord, when David was being pursued by those who would harm him unjustly, he sought You and pleaded for You to defend him. In our nation, O God, are people on every side who are being set upon unjustly. Therefore, we pray like David did for You to deal righteously with those who are wrong-doers. And, like David, we will say You are exalted, and we will speak of Your righteousness and of your praises all day long. For the sake of Him who sits at Your right hand, Amen.Posted in Daily Prayer |

Father who loves us, cares about us, and sent the Savior to die in our place. As we begin this Holy Week, we remember the reason that You, Lord Jesus, came and paid the sacrifice for our sin. Will you help us to remember what Easter is really about? – (From a PPT prayer member)

This God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, you have done marvelous things; things planned long ago. Lord, you have assigned me my portion amd my cup.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; you love, O Lord, endures forever – do not abandon the works of your hands.
As you pray today, remember all those who work for the agencies of the Department of the Interior, including with our Native American tribes peoples and in our National Parks.
